Eight Teachers Receive Top Honours for Dedication and Excellence in Education

1. Eight outstanding educators received this year's President's Award for Teachers from President Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the annual Teachers' Day Reception on 4 September 2025. The recipients are:

2. President Tharman said: "Our educators shape the hearts and minds that will in turn shape our future. Each moment of inspiration leaves a lasting mark. My warmest congratulations to the eight recipients of this year's Award. Your dedication and expertise exemplify the best of the profession."
3. This year's recipients were selected from 18 finalists by a panel chaired by Mr Patrick Tay, then-Chairperson of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Education. The panel included representatives from the Ministry of Education (MOE), Post-Secondary Education Institutions, and the COMmunity and PArents in Support of Schools (COMPASS). A total of 4,747 educators from 310 schools and 8 post-secondary education institutions were nominated by school leaders, colleagues, parents, as well as former and current students. 4. Established in 1998, the President's Award for Teachers recognises outstanding educators for their dedication and hard work in nurturing our young. Award recipients will be able to participate in an overseas learning programme and share their learning with the education fraternity. Award finalists will receive a grant to attend either overseas or local conferences, seminars, or courses.
